Citrix Workspace Safari

We have come across an issue recently with the new version of the Citrix online plugin (now called Citrix Reciever). Installation of the Citrix Reciever software from the OSX App store is not sufficient to allow the downloaded ICA file to auto open. The result is, you install Citrix Reciever and login to the Citrix site only for the ICA file to download, but not open. This makes it look like Citrix isn’t working properly. Drivers waltop.

The fix is simple:

First, you have to modify what Safari considers as a “safe” file. Ensure that in Safari’s Preference panel that ‘Open “Safe” files’ is checked.
Next, download this zip file: https://www.jaytag.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Auto_Open_ICA.zip
Extract the plist (preferences file) from the downloaded zip file
Drag and drop the file to /Library/Preferences. (On OSX Lion, type library in the ‘Find’ box and double-click into the preferences folder)
Restart Safari

The ICA files should now automatically open, allowing Citrix to work as intended.

This document outlines the process to install the Citrix Workspace App for a Mac computer. The Citrix Workspace app runs the Virtual Applications & Desktops and must be installed on your computer for them to work. Wishblade driver download.

1. Open up your internet browser of choice (we suggest google chrome or safari) Switzerland.

2. Navigate to: https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/mac/workspace-app-for-mac-latest.html

3. Click the button labeled 'Download Citrix Workspace app for Mac' to download the installer file.

4. Save the file to your downloads folder (safari does this by default).

5. Navigate to your 'Downloads' folder and double click the CitrixWorkspaceApp.dmg file

6. Double click the 'Install Citrix Workspace' button.

7. Select continue on the 'This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed' prompt.

8. Click the 'Continue' button on the Welcome to the Citrix Workspace Installer window

9. Click the 'Continue' button on the Welcome to the Software License Agreement window

10. Click the 'Agree' button to agree to the terms of the software license agreement

11. Click the 'Install' button to install to the default location.

12. Type in your Mac Username and Password (not Apple ID username/password) and then click the 'Install Software' button.

13. Leave the check box 'Add Account' unchecked and click the 'Continue' button.

15. Click the 'Move to Trash' button (this will delete the download files to save hard drive space)
